TITLE: Account Manager

DEPARTMENT: Karwoski & Courage, the public relations operating company of Martin Williams, Inc., part of the Omnicom Group.


This role will play a significant role in working on the agency’s largest client and other clients with immense growth potential. The account manager will work with senior members of the team with everything from strategic planning to execution of PR plans, which includes managing client expectations, budgets and day-to-day client contact. We’re looking for someone who wants to be challenged and is ready for the next step in their career with more leadership opportunity and the responsibility.

The ideal candidate understands the intricacies of agriculture audiences including farmers and retailers and has a passion for writing, working with the media, bringing great ideas to life and proving success with results.

What you’ll do all day:

  • Write blogs, bi-lined articles, media pitches and briefing documents
  • Work with B2B and B2C media publications
  • Monitor industry news and trends
  • Deploy eNewsletters and agricultural courses
  • Manage Facebook and Twitter channels (organic and paid)
  • Work with Account Director on planning through execution of paid, earned and owned tactics
  • Build trust with the client through outstanding work
  • Create confident, clear and persuasive reports and presentations, both in writing and in person. Have good selling skills.
  • Analyze data into actionable results

Perform other essential duties as assigned from time to time to meet the changing needs of Karwoski & Courage.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities needed:

  • Experience with ag retail, cooperatives and/or crop nutrition
  • Ability to organize and manage many complex, multifaced programs and projects at one time

Knowledge and experience in newswriting (AP style) and pitching stories to news media.

Working knowledge and experience with all facets of social media, especially Facebook and Twitter

Working knowledge of platforms including Sprout social, MailChimp, Critical Mention, Facebook Ad Manager, WordPress, Google Analytics

Solid media placement track record.

Excellent writing and Client management skills.

Knowledge and successful experience in sourcing and managing outside vendors.

Ability to organize and manage complex, multifaceted projects and programs.

Ability to quickly learn a new business and markets and to develop a thorough understanding of them.

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related area of study.

Minimum of three years of agency experience in public relations or related marketing and communications experience on the Client side.

Experience in both consumer and business-to-business PR

Master's in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications a plus

Experience with SEO
